Dragon Lords Alpha Terms of Use
These Terms of Use apply to your access to and use of Dragon Lords during its alpha testing period. Dragon Lords is operated by Design Forge Ltd (“we”, “us” or “our”).
By creating an account or continuing as a guest after accepting these Terms, you agree to them.
1. Alpha Software
Dragon Lords is currently in alpha development. It is unfinished software made available primarily for testing, development and feedback.
You should expect bugs, crashes, unfinished or missing features, balance changes, server interruptions and other problems. Features, game mechanics, maps, quests, characters, items, professions, progression systems, prices and other parts of the game may be added, changed or removed during development.
2. Game Progress and Resets
During the alpha, we may need to modify or reset game data. This may include characters, experience, levels, inventory, equipment, currency, quests, achievements, professions, marketplace activity and other progress.
Where reasonably possible, we will try to avoid unnecessary loss of player progress, but alpha progress should not be considered permanent. This does not affect any statutory rights relating to paid content.
3. Availability
We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of Dragon Lords or its servers. The game may be temporarily unavailable due to maintenance, updates, technical problems or service changes. We may also suspend or discontinue the alpha or the game itself, subject to applicable consumer rights and obligations.
4. Accounts and Guest Accounts
Dragon Lords is intended for players aged 12 and over. Players under 12 are not permitted to create an account or play the game.
You are responsible for taking reasonable steps to keep your account credentials secure.
Dragon Lords may allow you to play using a guest account without registering an email address and password. Guest accounts may depend on information stored on your device. Removing the game, clearing its data, changing devices, logging out or otherwise losing locally stored guest credentials may result in loss of access to the guest account.
We may provide an option to convert a guest account into a registered account.
5. Acceptable Use
You must not deliberately:
- cheat or use unauthorised software to gain an unfair advantage;
- exploit bugs or vulnerabilities for an unfair advantage;
- use bots or other unauthorised automation;
- interfere with the operation or security of the game or its servers;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to accounts, servers or data;
- harass, threaten or seriously abuse other players;
- use the game for unlawful purposes; or
- deliberately disrupt other players’ use of the game.
If you discover a serious exploit or security vulnerability, please report it rather than deliberately exploiting it. We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary to protect the game, other players or our systems, or where these Terms have been seriously or repeatedly breached.
6. Virtual Items and Currency
Characters, items, equipment, resources, virtual currencies and other game content form part of Dragon Lords. Access to virtual items does not give you ownership of the underlying game software, artwork, intellectual property or other game assets.
Virtual items and currencies may be changed as part of balancing, development or operation of the game, subject to applicable consumer rights and any specific purchase commitments.
7. Alpha Purchases
Real-money purchases are not offered during this alpha. We do not collect payment card details.
If purchases are made available later, the purchase screen will explain what is being purchased and any applicable conditions. Nothing in these Terms limits any refund, cancellation or other consumer rights that you have under applicable law.
8. Player Communication and Content
Dragon Lords includes a shoutbox, and may include other ways for players to communicate or submit content, including character names and messages. You must not use these features to submit unlawful, seriously abusive or infringing material.
We may moderate or remove player-generated content where reasonably necessary for operation of the service, enforcement of these Terms or protection of other users.
9. Intellectual Property
Dragon Lords, including its software, artwork, designs, characters, world, text, music, systems and other content, is owned by or licensed to Design Forge Ltd and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
We grant you a personal, limited and revocable right to use Dragon Lords for its intended purpose while these Terms apply. Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Dragon Lords or its intellectual property to you.
10. Feedback
You are welcome to provide ideas, bug reports and other feedback about Dragon Lords. You permit us to use feedback you voluntarily provide for the development and improvement of Dragon Lords without an obligation to compensate you for doing so.
11. Liability
Dragon Lords is alpha software, and its nature and limitations are described in these Terms. Nothing in these Terms excludes or restricts liability where doing so would be unlawful, or affects statutory rights that cannot legally be excluded or restricted.
12. Privacy
We process personal information in connection with Dragon Lords. Information about what we collect, why we use it, how long we keep it and your rights is provided in the Dragon Lords Privacy Policy.
13. Changes to These Terms
Dragon Lords will change substantially during development, and these Terms may also need to change. If we make a significant change, we will provide appropriate notice and, where required, seek your agreement before the updated Terms apply. The version and date at the top identify this document.
